1) Draw a rectangle that will define the conditional proportions and boundaries of the chosen drawing.
2) From the middle of the rectangle, draw one vertical and one horizontal line equally dividing the shape.
3) Draw another horizontal line equally dividing the upper half of the rectangle. Similarly, draw a horizontal line equally dividing the bottom half of the rectangle.
4) Draw a vertical line equally dividing the left half of the rectangle. Similarly, draw a vertical line equally dividing the right half of the rectangle.

Mark off the width and height of the picture. Draw a circle for the head of the gingerbread man. Draw a line, which will act as the center of his head and body. Define the places for his shoulders.

Draw guidelines for the gingerbread man’s body and legs.

Outline the body and legs.

Define with guidelines the places for the arms, eyebrows and mouth of the gingerbread man.

Sketch the arms, buttons and eyes.

To make the body of the gingerbread man more interesting, draw wavy lines on the hips. Add his mouth and eyebrows. Outline places for decorations made of icing.

Detail the mouth. Draw the icing decorations.

Contour the gingerbread man, trying to vary the thickness and darkness of the line. Add more detail and add the grass. Erase all guidelines.
